WeChat is yet another impressive free communications platform you can use to communicate with friends and family in India or elsewhere. Here are some of WeChat’s features:

  • Live Chat: open chats with other users and talk back and forth walkie-talkie style. Only one person can talk at a time. Talk and send messages back and forth with multiple people in Live Chat. Invite people to chats by sending them QR Codes. You can backup your chats for up to 7 days. 
  • Video Call: chat face to face with your friends. Switch from video to audio mode during the call.
  • Moments: share photos with your friends. Adjust the privacy of your photos and control who you’d like to notify of them. Like, comment or reply to photos. A timeline feature allows you to view all your moments.
  • Voice Chat: send voice messages.
  • Web WeChat: chat with someone who’s using WeChat on their computer.
