You probably have heard of the devastation in the Philippines right now. Last week Typhoon Haiyan struck the nation leaving utter destruction in its wake. 10,000 people are presumed to be dead and 2 million people need food aid.

If you can help, please support aid reliefs by donating now.

There are a variety of companies that are supporting the people of the Philippines by offering free calls to the nation.

– Smart Communications Inc. (Smart) is offering free calls services in Tacloban City, using the Telecoms Sans Frontieres (TSF) BGAN, which delivers broadband data and voice simultaneously, through a single portable device via satellite

– Telstra has announced it will not bill residential fixed-line and mobile customers calling friends or relatives in the Philippines, following Typhoon Haiyan.

– Hawaiian Telcom said Monday that residential customers in Hawaii can call the Philippines for free to connect with friends and family following Typhoon Haiyan.

– Viber extended free calls to non-Viber numbers to allow “everyone in the world” to make free calls to Globe, one of the two mobile operators in the Philippines.

If anyone needs to reach someone in the Philippines, above are four options. There are more out there. In this time of tragedy, companies are stepping up and offering free calls.
