FuturePhone: Make Free Calls to Anywhere in the World (Almost)

Written by ometrick on March 20th, 2009

Welcome to another blog on how to make free calls to anyone and anywhere around the world. This blog piece will talk about the now inactive, telephone service provider, FuturePhone. Currently, due to ongoing legal matters, thier phone service is now been put on hold, until all legal matters are resloved.

According to a message posted on their website, www.futurephone.com, the reason that their services were put on hold was not due to an illegal matter of their own, although there’s pending legal action – outside complaints toward them- regarding their services (including calls to Iowa.)

While the services were active, customers would dial a toll-free number, then the number they wanted to call, and they wouldn’t pay anything. That’s America for you. If someone comes up with a plan to save money and beat the major telephone service players, it’s illegal, but the truth will come out soon. In the meantime, you can always try broadband phone services like MagicJack or Vonage. They do take a bit of money out of your wallet, but it’s well worth it for the services and features they provide.

Also according to the message on their website, FuturePhone will file a formal complaint to the FCC, to have their services renewed. To find out more about when and if they will be rseuming operations, check thier website daily or tech blogs throughout the internet, by typing “futurephone update” in your search engine browser. If everything goes well, you can be making free or cheap phone calls to up to 50 countries around the world – just like old times.
