Free calls with Voxeet

If you’re looking for yet another way to make free conference calls, head over to Voxeet. I really like what I see from Voxeet, and I’ll tell you why.

First, they just launched an iOS app to go along with their Windows and Android apps. Voxeet offers crystal-clear voice conversations that you can access and control through your mobile device.

When you start a conference call with Voxeet, you seamlessly transition from your computer (PC only right now, but Mac is coming soon) to your mobile phone. You won’t get any disruptive beeping or background noise, and you won’t have to tell anyone in your call what you’re doing. You won’t interrupt your call at all. Also, you don’t have to redial any numbers or enter any passcode authorizations.

In a call, Voxeet provides avatars or images of every participant in the call. A level meter bobs up and down to represent who is talking at a given time.

If you’d like, you can arrange participants around a virtual table. Wear some stereo headphones and you’ll hear the sound panned to the left when someone on your left speaks. Same thing with someone on your right. That’s just cool. And it also will help to orient you on the call.

Calls are made via VoIP, but if you’d like you can transfer a call to a regular phone or a smart phone.

The app is ready to go for the new iPhone 5 and iOS 6, and requires iOS 5 or later. The app can support up to eight people on a given call. Take a listen, the sound quality is very high.

During the 2012 spring DEMO event, Voxeet was named DEMO God winner.
